　　A little boy invited his mother to attend his elementaryschool’sfirst teacher-parent conference. To the little boy sdismay, shesaid she would go.

　　This would be the first time that hisclassmatesand teacher met his mother and he was embarrassed byherappearance.

　　Although she was a beautiful woman, there was aseverescar that covered nearly the entire center side of her face.The boynever wanted to talk about why or how she got the scar.

　　At the conference, the people were impressed by the kindnessandnatural beauty of his mother despite the scar, but the littleboywas still embarrassed and hid himself from everyone. Hedid,however, get within earshot of a conversation between hismotherand his teacher, and heard them speaking.

　　How did you get the scar on your face? the teacher asked.

　　The mother replied, When my son was a baby, he was in a roomthatcaught on fire . Everyone was too afraid to go in because thefirewas out of control, so I went in. As I was running toward hiscrib ,I saw a beam coming down and I placed myself over him tryingtoprotect him.

She was frantic to make money before she managed the store herself. She once worked day and night for months on end in a small restaurant.

　　It was a very difficult period of time for her. But she never complained before us. Eventually she had her own business by running the small store. And she really managed it well all the time with great efforts. I never expected that the store would break. This will undoubtedly take everything away from my mother. I couldn‘t help worrying about her. Mother seemed to read the worry on my face. She patted me on my shoulder speaking with a faint smile: "Well it may not be that serious. I‘ll try to make it better whatever. We‘ll be fine my dear boy." I was so moved by mother‘s words.

　　因?yàn)閷W(xué)得非常好，曾小雨看上去要比一般人都輕松、快樂、自由，知識(shí)面也廣。小學(xué)三四年級(jí)時(shí)，她就讀完了全套中文版《哈利波特》，其它的世界名著更是讀了不少。小學(xué)畢業(yè)之前就把全套英文版《哈利波特》讀完了。

　　當(dāng)很多孩子的家長看那些肥皂劇，孩子也跟著上癮，連做作業(yè)都寫不安穩(wěn)，心里總想著電視劇的情節(jié)及后面的劇情時(shí)，小雨的'媽媽卻在給孩子放英語磁帶聽，不是逼孩子坐下來安靜地聽，而是不管吃飯、洗涮，還是睡前，都給孩子打開錄音機(jī)，放上英語磁帶。當(dāng)小雨有了一定的詞匯量，媽媽就和她一起看英文頻道的新聞。

　　對(duì)于她們來說，學(xué)好英語很簡單，就是得多聽多看多說。簡單，但是要堅(jiān)持。

　　很多學(xué)生不愛學(xué)英語，因?yàn)槲覀冎袊鴮W(xué)生在學(xué)英語的過程中，常常是前一個(gè)步驟還沒學(xué)就學(xué)下一個(gè)步驟，就像沒學(xué)會(huì)爬就先學(xué)跑。比如有好多中學(xué)生沒經(jīng)過學(xué)習(xí)字母、音標(biāo)的過程，以至于到了大學(xué)連字母的讀音都讀不正確，音標(biāo)也認(rèn)不全。許多學(xué)生到了初高中見了有音標(biāo)的單詞自己也不會(huì)讀，只是聽老師怎樣讀，自己就死記住單詞的讀音。

　　學(xué)習(xí)任何一門功課都是循序漸進(jìn)的，可在學(xué)英語時(shí)，我們學(xué)習(xí)的某些步驟被中斷了。因?yàn)檫@些步驟的中斷，學(xué)起來就比較困難，這也就是為什么有許多聰明的孩子數(shù)理化學(xué)得很好，就是對(duì)英語不感興趣。

　　無論在哪個(gè)英語學(xué)習(xí)階段，如果字母、音標(biāo)不熟的話，就該回過頭去補(bǔ)上這一課，因?yàn)檫@是最基礎(chǔ)最容易學(xué)習(xí)的，我們不能因?yàn)槿菀拙洼p視這些最簡單最基礎(chǔ)的知識(shí)學(xué)習(xí)，而學(xué)好這些能達(dá)到事半功倍的效果。

　　還有的同學(xué)死記單詞，碰到比較長的生詞，一下子就想記住，連續(xù)不停地寫十遍二十遍，越寫越心煩，越懷疑自己的記憶能力，這種學(xué)習(xí)方法在大學(xué)里都存在。碰到比較長的單詞不要死記，寫一兩遍，下一次碰到有個(gè)印象就行，有了印象，再遇到時(shí)就比較容易記住，而且你還可以過一段時(shí)間再復(fù)習(xí)。

　　學(xué)好英語的方法有很多,可歸結(jié)如下:

　　1、定期學(xué)習(xí)。每天學(xué)習(xí)一會(huì)兒比一周集中學(xué)幾個(gè)小時(shí)效果要好。所以請(qǐng)你每天擠出一點(diǎn)時(shí)間讀寫英語。要記住一篇課文，每天讀兩遍，一個(gè)星期就能讀14遍，這樣的記憶效果更佳，可是你把這些工作量集中在一個(gè)時(shí)間段落內(nèi)完成，一上午讀一篇課文14遍，只能讓你產(chǎn)生厭煩情緒，而且記憶效果還不行。
