　　One afternoon in September,1993 in Tatong,Shanxi Province,a two-year-old boy happened to fall into a deep ditch,which is only 40 centimetres wide but 45metres deep.The ditch is so narrow that the adults are not able to go down.At that time,an 11-year-old Young Pioneer named Zhang Tianxi,who is a miners son decided to save the little boy.Zhang is thin enough to go down to the bottom of the ditch.He was brave enough and made an effort to carry the little child to the surface of the ground.It took him about 45 minutes to finish the job.People sang high praise for his brave behavior.And Zhang was awarded the prize for the National Ten Finest Children.(全國十佳少年)
